3-year-old character reward
A lot of things have been suggested at the 1yr and 2yr birthdays. We got trade items, not very rewarding.
But collectors of prophecies got glowing hands. Something i personally hold in high regard (weirdly enough, but it shows a sort of wicked old-school'ing).
Suggestion
Give 3 year old characters a glow/sign around their character/bodypart when they do an emote. A true, subtle reward that is non-tradable.
pls sign or not-sign
@youcantseeme: I'm sorry if the suggestion came as a duplication of the collector's edition. it's more "something like"...

Frankly, I think the glowing effect should stay in the collectors edition. New mini's would be suitable for me.

I like it, 3 years is a long time for any character and it would be something unique, mini's were and are still fun, but they're so common now that the stigma has kind of worn off. Now when you open your character's birthday present it's "aww dang, only a white one?" rather than "Woah cool! A mini [w/e], that looks awsome!"
And to those who don't want to take away from the collectors edition thing it wouldn't have to, it would be entirely different in appearance than the collectors aura.
heck you could even make a special aura or emote when they do the /age emote and the character is over 3 years

While something unique like a glow would be nice, I like the 100k I get by selling the mini pet the day it comes out.

We the players turned them into what they are now. I don't believe that they were originally added as "trade items." Which is why when the first minipets came out, a lot of people wanted them to be customized.\
And I don't think that 3 year old characters should be given any sort of special aura. We've gotten minipets for the last two years, and really I think we should just continue to keep getting the same type of gifts for each birthday.

Although I wouldn't mind the collector's edition glow, I think the birthday presents should just stick with minipets. I have no idea why so many people have a problem with minipets. Either you like them and keep them, or you sell them and you end up getting money for your birthday instead. And they're not all the same, like a birthday glow would probably be (or similar enough for me to get bored too quickly).
And on a final note: I would much prefer a minipet to an emote. Not only is it harder to rub a minipet in someone's face the same way you can with an emote (especially one such as rank), but it would be easy to forget it's there. At least a minipet is in your inventory to remind you you've got it.

But make all the third year minis good ones please.
I only keep getting crap on my 1st year B'days, and I've had about 12 of them so far. 3 siege turtles and 2 devourers FTW!
No seriously, Anet = sux with birthday minis on my account. They have some kind of code to make sure I just pissed off all the time.

Yeah with a character 3 years old it would be a pain to get a white mini, especially one that you don't like. If it has to be mini's make the 3rd year ones all gold and characters(devona, mhenlo, kormir ect.)

How about opening a present instantly killing your character! Of course you get rezzed later.

Mini-pets are getting tired. A change would be nice. Personally though, I think the glowing body parts isn't really that appealing either. Maybe if I ever got a mini-pet that was worh more than 15k I would feel differently about them, but I doubt it. They'd still make me yawn.
P.S. Come to think of it I once sold a first year mini-pet for 100k. Now it's worth 5k.
